So many of my friends are suffering from illness, and from losses of various kinds. Life is hard.
Even though all troubles are “of” Satan, who should thus be the target of our anger, He often succeeds in using them to turn us against God. But that can backfire on him.
Jesus has promised to be with us, even to the end of the world, and that includes helping us in the trials of life – through which He can draw us closer to Himself. That, and becoming more motivated to serve Him, can give purpose to our suffering; a new sense of identity; and comfort even in our sobbing sorrow and loneliness. The Col. 1:27 divine mystery is enhanced when we humbly turn to Him in our troubles.
God continues to hold me in a quiet mode and a more active prayer ministry as He draws me closer to Himself, and I will post more when He says it’s time, but for now, this – -.
HEART ATTACK
God just gave me another opportunity to declare to the ends of the earth that He is “Lord” and worthy of my worship. I will. I want to serve Him and make Him known until my last breath. I want to be more sanctified – more set apart unto Him and His purposes.
I had a heart attack Thursday evening and ended up in the hospital for a heart cath and stent. It showed 95% blockage in the mid-left anterior descending artery, which supplies oxygen to a large part of the heart including some particularly important areas. Complete blockage there, called a “widowmaker,” is often fatal.
Oh wow – God was with me! “Thank you, Jesus!” Due to the location and severity of the blockage it will take time and many prayers, to regain my strength. Thank you!
MOVING ON
As troubles arise personally, and around us, let’s seek the Mt. 6:33 Kingdom of God and His righteousness, with our minds and imaginations set on Him and our lips declaring His praises. He is worthy!
And then comes heaven!
Note to self, “Remember that Ken, the next time you start to slip into that dark ‘lonesome pit.’” I am weak but He is strong.
