As you do, ask yourself how different this was from the rescue mission that Jesus left with the Church.
And ask if we are willing to rescue the lost and care for the injured in the same selfless spirit as these mariners. And if not, why not?
What will it take to make us a united, selfless armada who will charge into the choking and blinding smoke, and dirty our beautiful boats with those fleeing the havoc of our world?
Or are we too busy with our cruises and dinner parties, or too taken up with polishing our boats and adding the latest navigation, fish-finding or buffet serving equipment, to be bothered?
There’s plenty of boats. Jesus is the Captain, where are the deck hands – – or are we all tourists?

I want to be a deck hand… How do I do that…. Feeling helpless lately.. Praying Constantly
First of all Mike, you already are a deck hand in the way you relate to your students and family. Keep praying, and listen to God about ways that you can enrich your testimony there by being bolder or more direct in sharing what God means to you, and how He is part of your life, or how His being GOD helps you have a quiet heart in these Days. He knows your heart, and your life has the kind of integrity, sincerity and humility that He speaks through. May it be so more and more!
