I just love the word “transformed.” It is bursting with life, hope and the process into experiencing them.
Remember our “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.”*
Our English word “transformed” comes from the Greek “metamorphoó,” from which we get metamorphosis, which you know speaks of the process of a caterpillar that has been crawling on the ground, becoming a butterfly that soars in the breeze. Webster says it means “a change of physical form, structure, or substance especially by supernatural means.”
And get this. The same Greek work is translated “transfigured” in Matthew 17:2 and Mark 9:2. Oh wow! Think about THAT for a minute!
And then there’s, “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:2 NASB 1995
“Renew” comes from the Greek word that we also translate as renovate, so think about that when it comes to things inside of you that hinder your freedom, fruitfulness and joy. You might want to ask God to help you tear out some walls and redesign your interior around the example of Christ as you are being transformed.
My brother, my sister, there’s hope for us. Believe that He is ready to deliver you from crawling in the dirt of rejection, abuse, betrayal, abandonment, failures and other sufferings that life and people have inflicted upon you. New life is awaiting as you bow your heart to Lord Jesus and choose His way. The narrow path. The way of the cross. The way into life.
