#187 – Spiritual Gastric Lymphoma, Part 2

WORTH FIGHTING FOR
The Gospel is glorious. The Church that Jesus established is glorious, but that glory is largely missing today and strongholds (previous post) have much to do with it.

So, where are the saints who will pray for the Church? Not just your church but the one down the street that believes a bit differently than you do.

We are unaccustomed to the darkness of Covid suffering and death that now engulf us, and “darker” is coming. Many saints are distressed, but the church’s gastric lymphoma prevents their getting the high-protein nutrition they need. And it obstructs the flow of Life through us to the lost whose fears and hopelessness create opportunity for the glorious Gospel.

Light dispels darkness, and part of that process is to pray Light and Truth over the Church in Jesus’ Name, to replace the darkness of strongholds, as we intercede that God would give sight to the blind in the pulpit and the pew.

The challenges of 2022 will bring greater clarity to Light versus darkness for those who have eyes to see. We must humbly, courageously, boldly and wisely fight for truth and abundant life in the Church.

A NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTION?
Who will, in the New Year, pray to demolish strongholds to release the Church from the spiritual cancer that robs us of the vitality that would reveal the glorious Gospel in the Church and to those who yet walk in darkness?

This isn’t throwing an occasional quick prayer God’s way, it’s a mission that captures us. It will be in the front of our minds and will displace some of the hours we now squander in frivolous activities. How about gathering on Super Bowl Sunday evening to pray for the Church?

THE BATTLE IS ON
For most of us, addressing spiritual strongholds will require personal repentance and that we ourselves go deeper into life in the Spirit and the way of the cross. Further, engaging in the battle in the heavenlies is daring and risky. We put a target on our backs for Satan and we can’t succeed without the spiritual armor of Ephesians 6:10-18. https://biblia.com/bible/esv/ephesians/6/10-18

So – – where ARE the fighters? Or are we too busy pursuing the things of the world and in building our religious institutions, to be sidetracked by such a thing?
