#53 – Come to the Table, 2

GOOD GRUB
There are no artificial flavors or preservatives in the food on Jesus’ table. Or refined sugar, high fructose corn syrup or hydrogenated oil. It’s all from His Garden; grown from heritage seed; and pesticide free because He dealt with the pests about 2000 years ago.

IF – –
If you think there’s no hope for you because you’re just too weak, remember the truth of “Christ in you, the hope of glory.”* That is, the confident expectation of beauty, of excellence, and of living in a way that contrasts with and is superior to the ways of the flesh. (Remember “glory” in “Something Better, 8”?

Paul writes in Eph. 1:18-23 that the very power that raised Jesus from the dead and seated Him at the Father’s right hand in the heavenly places, is at work in us today. Read that. Picture it. Believe it.

If you have truly come to Christ but feel spiritually insecure, read John 10:28, “I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them out of My hand.” And wrap your arms around I Peter 1:3-5.

If you feel “lost” in the confusing maze of your life or amongst the angry voices of our Day, remember Mt. 18:11, “For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.”

If you think that you’ve already gone too far, remember the Parable of the Lost Sheep in Luke 15:1-7; and the lost coin in Luke 15:8-10; and the Prodigal Son in Luke 15:11-32, and be convinced that this is how the Father looks upon you.

If there are hunger pangs in your soul, remember that Jesus said, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.” Mt. 5:6

HEAR HIM
Finally, if He were sitting beside you there, He would take your hand, look you in the eyes and quote Isaiah to you, “Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! – – – .” Isaiah 55:1-3

More gourmet to come!

Thank you. That was a very much needed word for my heart, mind and spirit. I’ll probably have to read this many times more before it all sinks in. Have a wonderful celebration this week!

Yes, we’re on a journey. Little by little. More and more as we are transformed into the image of Christ. I Cor. 3:18 As we press toward the Life He offers, let’s focus more on what Jesus has done in us, and is now doing, and less on our inadequacies and failures which Satan likes to remind us of the condemn us. There is therefore now no condemnation – Rom. 8:1-4. Believe it. Receive it – – and keep pressing on! Ken
