#52 – Come to the Table, 1

COMING HOME
There’s a longing inside of us for “something more” because our spirit grieves over its separation from its Maker, but God invites us to come home to Him.

Remember the abundant life that we talked about recently, which Jesus won for us on the cross? It means our becoming who we were created to be because He fought the ultimate battle and won.

Our spiritual rebirth transfers us into a new spirit realm* whose values, culture and resources are night-and-day different. Both our brokenness and our restoration through Christ impact everything about us.

COME AND DINE
So – – Jesus has spread the table for us and invites us to come and dine. Masks off, sit close.

Our need for identity, healing, security and peace are all met in Him. Everything that your spiritual and emotional taste buds long for is on the table.

If you feel like you’re messed up, remember that Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” Luke 5:31-32 niv

If you need a friend who will never turn you away, consider John 15:15 and John 6:37.

If you are emotionally and physically exhausted, remember that in Mt. 11:28-30 He says, “Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29) Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30) For My yoke is comfortable, and My burden is light.”

And that’s only the appetizer!
