The actual stupidest thing I can imagine is to indulge in the pleasures of this world, expecting to still go to heaven in the Rapture (Plan A) because we checked enough boxes, but thinking that if we miss it we’ll decide to choose Christ in the Tribulation (Plan B). Aaaah – not smart!
To start with, according to Jesus’ strong words in the last post many present-day churchgoers will end up at Plan B. They have indulged in private expressions of lawlessness like judgementalism, pornography and ungodly movies, and the more public, church-sanctioned ones like setting the eyes of ones’ heart on the world.
Many have wasted on worldly pleasures the resources that God entrusted to them for taking the Gospel to the ends of the earth, and there is a price to pay for that lawlessness too.
Further, Plan B is risky because in that time of crushing deception ones’ previously unseeing eyes and unhearing ears can continue to inform their pride in a way that they continue to refuse the Lord – and then comes the fire of hell forever. Bad news!
Finally, many will repent in the Tribulation but the only way of escape will be death – probably following indescribable agony and torture – which doesn’t sound like a good plan. Being decapitated will be the easiest way out because it won’t hurt for long.
Church, we really can have the best of both worlds. We can have life in the Kingdom of God while on the earth and then heaven forever! Why would we choose otherwise?
