The Church that Jesus established has been “the Church of the Last Days” since its inception.
That is, after God took about 4,000 years to work toward the coming of Jesus, He set in motion a plan to move toward the end of the world as we know it.
The Spirit-empowered Church is the means through which His redemptive plan is to be presented to the world as time moves toward final events. THAT is what these “Last Days” are about. We are to dedicate ourselves to the enlarging of the present form of the Kingdom of God on the earth as we await our Lord’s return to implement what comes next.
However, we are still in the world that Satan presently rules, and we are enlarging the Kingdom of God in enemy territory. There are many distractions and temptations as Satan attempts to get us off-task.
Our two options in life are to abide in the spirit of the world by default, or in Christ (John 15:1-11) by choice. The former makes us at peace with the world, the latter sets us at odds with it and requires costly sacrifice. There are no other options.

Our souls are “connected” to Him, and our identity and sense of well-being are in Him. We are freed from soulish concerns for things of the earth including the opportunities, rights, and privileges that earthly-minded American Christians treasure – – the very things that handicap their fulfilling the task Jesus gave us.
ELAINE UPDATE
This is sooo exciting! Her Thursday infusion was routine and her blood count is up to 12.3 – – in the normal range. Hallelujah!!
She is eating well and has gained a few more pounds per doctors’ orders. She is sleeping well without any help; gaining strength notably; her “step” is improving; and she is now helping with things like changing the sheets on the bed. She tires easily but progress is so encouraging.
Three more infusions; another endoscopy on March 3 to see how the bleeding ulcer has healed; and probably another scan to see what the Rituxan has done to the tumor. Thanks for your continued support. We are blessed beyond measure!
