God makes it hard for us mere mortals to know exactly what’s coming next because He does things His way and in His time. Look at how He orchestrated things for the Messiah to come. The Jews had their minds made up about how it would happen and they missed it – and missed Him.
How close are we to the Rapture? Or, will there even be one? Do the unusual events in the heavenlies and on the earth (earthquakes, volcanoes, floods, drought), mean anything? What role does Israel have in End-Time events? How about Trump and Kushner and their Board of Peace, and AI, Bitcoin and digital ID? What about the red heifer and the third temple? Are there aliens out there or are they demons in disguise? I’m only challenging our dogmatism which could turn out to be uninformed, but misguiding us in the meantime.
Yes, we are given some clues, but so was Israel; and we, as they, can only interpret the clues within the framework of our knowledge and opinions. It is entirely possible that in the end we will see that He did things in a way that caught us off guard but which made sense after the fact.
BUT
But there ARE some things that those of the Matthew 24:42-44 mindset will see, and will shape their lives around in principle.
Now might be a critical time to do some things that we ought to be doing anyway, like forgiving or asking forgiveness, setting our minds on things above (Colossians 3:1-4), pursuing godliness at a deeper level (25-35), and preparing ourselves and those we love to persevere through hardship. Everything but the Kingdom of God will be shaken, so let’s deepen our moorings there, making sure we have oil for our lamps, keep our eyes on Jesus, and being about His business of extending His Kingdom as never before.
I believe that God put DJT in place as a world leader and our president, but he is not “The Prince of Peace” and a MAGA hat is not what Ephesians 6:17 means by a “helmet of salvation.” Many American Christians need to repent of misguided loyalties if they hope to do well in the Day to come – however it comes.
