Communication is crucial to any group of people who hope to work together for the common good. The success of families, businesses, churches, sports teams, and technology development groups, for example, depends a lot on open communication including the willingness of all parties to both speak and listen.
We are so different in our interests, gifting and abilities, life experiences, ways of processing situations and information, and areas of insight, and we need each other. We have always needed each other, but we in America have been able to function quite independently up to this point because of the freedoms of our land.
That won’t work though, as we move deeper into the growing deception and the persecution it will lead do. We’re not ready for what lies ahead, but there’s a strange reluctance to talk about it in spite of the many indicators that are obvious to those who have eyes to see. That needs to change. We MUST start talking.
I’ve facilitated a study of Hebrews 10:32 through chapter 11 in two small groups I’m part of, and it is enlightening. These are our heroes of faith who stood strong in the face of unspeakable suffering and torture, and we must learn from them. Embracing their way of life would bring sorely-needed revival in our churches today, and nothing less will sustain us in the Day to come. NOW is the time to prepare.
I begin the study with open discussion on current world events and how they point toward coming events, and then we discuss the text to learn how we can stand strong in that soon-to-come Day. It is heartening to see how open people are, and how free to discuss things, share fears and exchange opinions in a safe environment.
This leads to new insights and encouragement, as Hebrews 10:23-25 says, and fosters the kind of communicating and caring community that will be especially essential in our future. https://biblia.com/bible/nkjv/hebrews/10/23-25
