Picking up from Sept. 21, feminism’s rejection of God’s authority set the stage for the Jan. 22, 1973, Roe v Wade SCOTUS decision on abortion, which moved us toward their June 26, 2015 redefinition of marriage as we increasingly abandoned God’s laws.
That decision opened the floodgates for a rush of heretofore unthinkable moral depravity and led to further decisions, at least in our lower courts, which refute the wonder and beauty of God’s design of gender and human sexuality.
However, while their decisions were like aerosol cans releasing spirit pathogens, our courts hadn’t operated in a vacuum. They were under the influence of the reprobate spirit that was spreading under pressure from activists, politicians and the media. They were merely in step with and supposedly legitimizing our declining society.
Each decision took us further from our historic Biblical and moral values. Romans 1:18-23 speaks of the innate instincts about right and wrong that God placed within humans, and which typically guide even non-Christian cultures. We are free to reject them at great risk and Americans have chosen to do so.
Such court decisions are prophetic, predicting what will surely come in God’s time. They foster lightning-filled storm clouds in the west because God made the laws of life and has the final word.
LIGHTNING STRIKES
Romans 1:22 says, “Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools,” and v24, “Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another.” (niv)
And then v26, “Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts,” and v28, “Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind- -.” (I didn’t write those verses, I only quoted God.) That horrifying scenario is being demonstrated before our eyes in America today.
BUT TRUTHFULLY . . .
